The BC Championship Chili Cook Off
OFFICIAL RULES FOR SHOWMANSHIP 2004
1. Showmanship shall be judged in the following categories:
a) Theme (originality, creativity, etc.)
b) Costumes
c) Booth Set-up
d) Action
e) Audience Participation
2. Judging:
a) Judging will be done on a continuous basis, from Noon to 4 PM, throughout the event.
b) Showmanship judges will remain anonymous.
c) Teams using electronic sound amplification are asked to keep their volume at a low level.
Note: power may not be available.
d) Judges will determine scores using a point system (1 to 10 points), within the five categories noted above in Section 1.
e) Judges will be Chili Heads familiar with criteria for Good Showmanship.
3. Qualifications:
The Top Showmanship Winner is qualified to enter the Original Terlingua International Championship Chili Cook Off, to be held in Terlingua, Texas, on November 6, 2004.
4. Special Requirements:
All contestants who have special requirements, or who plan to arrive by special vehicle (i.e., decorated art cars, hot air balloons, parachute, etc.) are asked to notify Art Lindala at least one week prior to the event, so that adequate crowd control procedures or other measures may be prepared.
